On the 9th of March 2018 Minister of Arts, Culture, Sport and Recreation visited Ward 8 of uMfolozi Municipality, where he officially opened the KwaMthethwa Modular Library in the Zonza area. 

The objective behind launching the Library is to assist and encourage the youth of uMfolozi to read and to know that their future is brighter with books.

Expressing his sentiments, uMfolozi Municipality Mayor His Worship Cllr Smangaliso Mgenge said, “Everything you wish to know can be found in books. More so, the knowledge you currently have was also found in books”.

In addition, he thanked the Minister for remembering where he comes from and for giving back to the community.

The mayor went on to urge the community members to utilise the library, as it would be for their own benefit.

The modular library will operate every Monday to Saturday and qualified staff has also been assigned to assist the community.
